Photography Classes

with International Italian Artist Valerio Rigamonti

A three-day cultural and creative exchange with boys at our Art Residence and in surrounding communities.

The Exchange

In August-September 2025, Streetlights Uganda hosted Valerio Rigamonti, a Freelance designer and photographer from Italy.

Valerio travels to different parts of the world, especially marginalized communities, using photography to tell people's stories from a perspective of cultural appreciation and uplifting purpose beyond pain and suffering.

Through interactive photography and art sessions with Valerio, the children learned basic photography skills, explored creative expression, and built confidence by capturing and modeling for each other's work.

The exchange also included a community visit to Soweto and Namuwongo, where Valerio engaged with younger children and gained firsthand insight into the daily realities of street-connected youth. This immersive experience strengthened cross-cultural understanding, nurtured artistic talent, and gave the boys a powerful platform to share their stories through visual art.
